Mr. Paul W. Jones, Chief of Mission, U.S. Embassy, Manila and other Embassy officials visited the Mariano Marcos State University on May 14, 2008. During this visit, Mr. Jones delivered a lecture on RP-US relations. He emphasized in his lecture that the relationship between the Philippines and the U.S. remains strong. He mentioned that services along prosperity and peace are among the priority concerns of his office. A fruitful discussion on related issues emanated during the open forum.

     To provide supplementary sources of information on RP-US relations, the ASRC organized an exhibit and put on reserve books on the subject. The exhibit and the reserved books will continue up to the end of July 2008. Likewise, participants were encouraged to view the exhibit on “The American Contribution to Philippine Education”  found in front of the ASRC.

     With the Deputy Chief of Mission Jones were: Ms. Karen Schinnerer, Deputy Press Attachè; Mr. Denny Merideth, Control Officer; Mr. Phillip Sims, Special Agent, Diplomatic Security Service and Mr. Frank Mendoza, Deputy Chief Investigator.

      Three hundred two (302) individuals warmly welcomed the U.S. Embassy visitors and participated in the lecture-forum. Among these were Dr. Miriam E. Pascua, University President, Dr. Nancy GB. Balantac, Vice President for Academic Affairs, other members of the Administrative Council, faculty/staff members, students and the general public.
