The MMSU-ASRC and Education USA Advising Center participated in the celebration of the IEW 2007 on November 12-16. The celebration had four objectives: 1) To create awareness of the IEW celebration and the importance of international education; 2) To promote international education with focus on Education USA and to attract students to study, learn and exchange experiences in the United States; 3) To acquaint participants on American culture and society; and 4) To share experiences and observations on Education USA with the participants through a visiting professor from the United States.

            To attain the above objectives, the following activities were conducted: 1) Exhibit on information materials downloaded from the IEW Websites (ASRC Lobby); 2) Visiting and distributing to various colleges of the MMSU and to some high schools in Batac City, Laoag City and other towns of Ilocos Norte and Ilocos Sur copies of the Philippine-American Educational Foundation (PAEF) and Opportunity Grants brochures, American Colleges and Universities Magazines, and International Student Guide to the United  State of America; 3) Paper show on “Study in USA” and exhibit of brochures on U.S. colleges and universities (ASRC Lobby); 4) Lecture-Workshop on Opportunities for Graduate Study in the United States with MMSU students and faculty members (University Main Library); and 5) Talk on the experiences and observations on Education USA by Dr. Evangeline N. Blust, Visiting Professor, MMSU Social Sciences Department  from Green Mountain College, Vermont, U.S.A., to MMSU students.

            There were 301 students, faculty members  and other individuals who benefited from the activities.
