To join the world in the celebration of the 62nd
Year of the United Nations Organization, the ASRC conducted a presentation on
“Fighting Against Aids: Paving the Way to a Healthier Living” through a
lecture, film viewing and paper show at the Baay Elementary School, City of
Batac, Ilocos Norte, on October 17, 2007. ASRC Area Director Lucena R. Felipe
served as the resource person. Ninety-four (94) pupils, teachers and parents
participated in the presentation. A quiz was conducted after the lecture using
the Philippine American Friendship, 1946-2006 foot rulers as prizes to winners.

On the same day, the film “Phonics
and Fables” was presented to 101 kindergarten and Grade I pupils
and
3
teachers
of
the
school.
This
is
in line with the ASRC
and
American
Studies
Association
(ASA) in
the
Ilocos
program of helping
improve the quality of English teaching through film viewing.
The
activities were in partnership with the Mariano Marcos State University
Extension Directorate with the full support of the University Administration.
